Richmond Homes is shortlisted for prestigious property award

As August comes to a close, a flurry of excitement has been building across Scotland’s property sector. Its that time of year again when the esteemed Herald Property Awards for Scotland announce their shortlist of finalists, celebrating the very best of the county’s most innovative and successful house builders, developers and social landlords for 2016. 

Across 16 categories, the Awards aim to recognize the very best in all styles of properties and developments from Best Show Home, to Commercial Project of the Year, to Best Regeneration Project, and many more.  In this, the award’s 10^th anniversary year, the judging panel have been astonished at the sheer volume of entries and the high calibre of properties to choose from, highlighting the prestigious nature of these awards and an exciting resurgence in the Scottish property market.

This year, Richmond Homes are delighted to be one of three finalists in the Herald Property Awards ‘Best Family Home’ category (for Developers Building less than 50 units per year) for our family home, ‘The Alder’ at our luxury Chesterhill Development outside Edinburgh. We will be hoping to repeat our success of 2013 when we won ‘Best Family Home’ for a unique bespoke home in St Andrews. To be recognized again amongst such an innovative and impressive shortlist of finalists is a wonderful accolade and we will be awaiting the results with baited breath at the glamorous black tie awards dinner in Glasgow on September 22^nd.

We identify thriving village communities which can offer many lifestyle benefits including speciality shopping and eating out, outdoor recreation, community activities and nature and wildlife.  Other more practical aspects include local facilities such as health centres and schools.

A further vital aspect of location is the position of the building plot within the neighbourhood or community.  Whether the site is within or on the edge of a town or village, the surrounding landscape, the views on offer and the orientation of the building to the sun are also vital considerations.
